Did you feel that? How’s about that Full Moon/Taurus Eclipse early this am?

This was the longest partial Eclipse in over 500 years and won’t happen again for a shit long time. It’s the first in a series of Eclipses in the Taurus/Scorpio axis through July 2023. For the past 18 mo-ish, Eclipses have been on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis. This backwards shift of Lunar nodes always rocks us to our core, unearths new ground, breaks new challenges free.

**FYI- Things have already shifted, the Moon and other planets are in different places but where they were just a few hours ago is still important to take note of.

Dark Side of the Moon

Most of this lunation chart is full of Fixed signs, energy that holds steady, digs in its heels and slowly but surely gets the job done. But you can have too much of a good thing.

Planets were active in the Northern Hemisphere in this chart. Meaning, there is a theme on subconscious/unconscious work/energy.

Planets in the West Meridian were active at the time of lunation. Meaning a focus on inward/receiving work/energy.

Planets in the 2nd & 3rd Quadrants were most activated, highlighting and rooting our inner power and receptivity to others.

The sign of the moon hits on our unconscious moods, our core needs & values. The phase it’s in reflects the state of our emotions.

Full moons bring heightened senses & intuitions. It’s the midpoint of the lunation cycle. We release and reflect on what was put in motion at the New Moon. Do we keep on course or do we pivot? Either way, you get to stand in your power, open yourself to key insights and hold on for the changes!

Taurus is an Earth sign. It’s the slow moving bull, patient, steady & stable. Peaceful when grazing but angered when bothered. Taurus is our values & resources. It’s our psychological need for comfort, safety & security. Ruled by planet Venus, it’s an appreciation of all beauty and aesthetics, earthly connections & pleasures, and desire for nurture & self-care.

This moon was a Micromoon, its farthest from the Earth and appears smaller. Energetically, this could mean lessons will take time to integrate, may seem out of reach, or even not as important. Remember, it’s all an illusion. The key word is “appears” to be smaller. Taurus is patient, right?

Eclipses bring the shadows, even though we have the bright light of the Full Moon. Taking note of what's exposed to the light and what’s lurking in the dark. They intensify our path of growth, catalysts to shake things loose. Portals open. Transformations awaken. Bigger pictures become more clear.

The last time the Taurus/Scorpio Eclipse cycle happened was in 2013-14. If you can, think back to what was going on then. It’s helpful to keep a journal, not something I’m good at. So, I look at photos during that time to spark my memory. The Taurus/Moon & Scorpio Sun tap into how we nourish ourselves, how we decompress/regenerate, how we create beauty, and cycles of life & death.

Sun/Scorpio square Jupiter/Aquarius

Square aspects can be challenging, tense even.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion of feelings & emotions but also new territories & explorations, and broader meanings, often presenting opportunities.

Sun is our conscious ego, it’s where what lights us up and feels alive lives. When connected to another planet, it illuminates & intensifies that energy.

This transit expands our horizons and encourages adventures, while at the same time leaves us wanting more. It’s the feeling of things looking better “over there” and not right where you are.

Venus/Capricorn trine Uranus/Taurus

Mercury/Scorpio trine Neptune/Pisces

Keys & Questions

Some key words/phrases for this lunation:

Relationships with self + other (because you can’t have one without the other).

Inner knowing.

Speak your truth. Uniqueness.

Questions to ask:

Where am I stuck?

Where am I ungrounded?

Where am I too comfortable?

Where am I uncomfortable?

How do I react to the unexpected shifts?

This Full Moon is more than supercharged, it’s like a Full Moon on Meth. Eclipse energy sticks around. Some say up to a month before or after. This one sets the tone for the next six months but also through the rest of the Taurus/Scorpio eclipses for the next 18 months.

I like to think of Eclipses as celestial cairns, marking points along our journey. We can take note and follow them or ignore them. That’s the beauty of free-will. Eclipses will either remind you that the Earth is beneath you or stir up a muck of emotions. Neither is right or wrong, it just is. Eclipses remind us that life always renews.

The gift is in the reminder that all of it is temporary. There’s space to draw back and see a broader view. This time is rife for closure, expanding consciousness, and freeing your mind of what’s holding you down.

Give yourself the permission to trust your inner sense of knowing, allowing your intuition to guide you.

As always, may the light shine on you. May the shadows teach you. May you be open to the signs and symbols all around you. They are always there, you just need the right kind of vision.
