Underneath the Moon

Have you been feeling a little pulled apart the last couple days? Or perhaps your emotions are riding a see-saw? Don’t worry you’re not alone.

The moon was at its most full tonight at 5:11 ET. It is the fourth full moon this Spring and is called a “Blue Moon.” This won’t happen again until 2021. The moon is in the sign of Scorpio, a fixed water sign. It’s not flowy and moving, with emotions at the forefront like Pisces. The waters in Scorpio are still, opting for stubbornness, pushing their emotions down into the depths.

If you want to learn more in depth about the full moon, read my blog Full Moon Frenzy. Simply put, the Full Moon is a time for action. Time to reflect and shine light on what you’ve been working on, or up to, since the last New Moon intentions. Don’t worry if you didn’t set intentions, you can always just review what’s been going on for the last two weeks. My blog, New Moon- Hygge State of Mind, goes in to more detail about setting New Moon intentions.

Winds of Change

Now let’s talk about the sign the moon is transiting in, Scorpio. Represented by the symbol of the scorpion, you might understand what sorts of characteristics one with a Scorpio sun sign would have. First thing that comes to mind, for me, is the stinger. But did you know most species of scorpions are not a threat to humans? Even more, an otherwise healthy adult might not even need to seek medical treatment.

I think this bodes well for the energy of Scorpio. They may come across as impulsive or irrational, but it is generally in search of knowledge and growth. Known for their resourcefulness, investigative nature, and passionate & determined behavior, Scorpio are ready for anything. They’re likely to see right through the bullshit.

Scorpio is ruled by the planets Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, and (some say) Mars, archetype of the Warrior. So, we have Pluto bringing up from the deep, dark parts of our psyche. While Mars, marches forward with assertiveness & aggression, helping us to discern the when to use these seemingly opposing forces.

Bella Luna

With the Full Moon in Scorpio, it’s a time to check your groundedness. I might have made up that word. Connect with your breath, sit on the earth, get your hands in the dirt, or feet in the sand. The energy swirling around can be intense, and these simple motions can help to anchor them. I mentioned the investigative nature of Scorpio, they love to see what’s underneath, as does Pluto. With the Moon at its brightest, it’s shining a light on these shadow qualities. Something that might not be fun for most. There may be intense beginnings and endings. Take the opportunity to use this time to seek out guidance and clarity around your soul purpose. What is birthing within you? What wants to be created? What can I learn from these shadows?

With four planets in Taurus Earth energy, take some time to reflect on how you can help the condition of our Planet.

Having the passion of action-centered Scorpio and the Full Blue Moon, it’s the perfect moment to get clear and make your dreams real.

There’s really a whole lot more going on up there in the stars, you might be feeling that too. But we’ll get to that next week.
